A leading figure of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former Trade Minister, Hon. Alan Kyeremanteng, has resigned and therefore decided to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 General Elections.
In an address captured by most media houses on Monday, 25th September, 2023, the former Minister of Trade, asserted that the NPP had been hijacked by some unscrupulous persons.
“Under the circumstances and given the context provided, I wish to use this platform to announce that I am honorably resigning with immediate effect from the New Patriotic Party to contest for the high office of the President of the Republic of Ghana in the 2024 General Elections, as an Independent Presidential Candidate,” Alan stated
Kyerematen also stressed that he is committed to addressing the current issues facing the country, which include economic development, job creation, and social welfare.
He also declared war on corruption stating that, he would make use of current technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, Blockchain etc.
