Meta launched a rival app to Twitter called Threads.
The app has for the past five days had more than 100 million users, beating the record set by Open AI’s ChatGPT App.
Despite issues raised by Twitter owner, the Threads’ app has now gained almost one-third of the 350 million users that Twitter is suggested to have.
Since Elon Musk took over as the new Twitter owner, users of the 280 characters app became furious with some changes on the app including applying for verification. Thousands of jobs were also lost since the take over.

Despite the Threads app gaining a lot of users, Twitter has threatened to take legal actions against the owner, Meta.
Twitter accused Meta’s owner, Mark Zuckerberg of “systematic, wilful, and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property” to develop Threads.
Twitter alleged that Meta had contacted and employed former employees who “had and continue to have access to Twitter’s trade secrets and other highly confidential information”. Meta has however refuted all allegations.
