As an HR lead, your core mandate will be to implement progressive and forward-looking practices that help the company attract and retain the best talent and position us as the best place to work in Africa. This is a unique opportunity to work with the founding team to shape the culture here. This role requires you to be based in Accra with the ability to commute across Ghana.
What does the job involve
- Managing and supporting the various aspects of the life cycle of our hearts. This includes recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, wellness, and career development.
- Develop a recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top talent, using innovative sourcing and assessment strategies and tools.
- Developing, implementing and updating HR policies and employee handbooks that reflect the unique needs of our fast-paced and rapidly evolving organization.
- Managing the performance appraisal process.
- Developing and implementing managing new and existing employee recognition initiatives such as culture champion and star of the week.
- Oversee employee relations and conflict resolution programs.
- Design innovative programs and initiatives that drive employee satisfaction, empower employees to take risks and experiment, and leads to industry-leading performance across the organization.
- Provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including employee relations, conflict resolution, and career development.
- Develop, measure, and track key HR metrics that the organization should be assessed on.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with all internal stakeholders at the company.
- Create public knowledge base about our innovative HR practices that can be shared and consumed by other practitioners.
- Any other duties as requested by your supervisors.
Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in an HR role at a fast growth tech startup or multinational with a proven track record of implementing or proposing forward-thinking ideas.
- Bachelor’s degree from a leading university in Africa or globally.
- Understanding of employment law and regulations in Ghana
- Advanced strategic and problem-solving skills
- Basic data analytics skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
