The German government recently announced the term “Chancenkarte” which means “opportunity card” which will take effect on 1st March, 2024. This should be available to the public by the end of the 2023.

Eligibility criteria for an opportunity card
You must have at least three of these four conditions for you to be eligible for the opportunity card in Germany,
- Age: You should be under 35 years.
- Qualifications: A university degree or professionally qualified.
- Experience: You should hold at least 3 years of work experience.
- Language: Either German language or previous residency in Germany is required.

The opportunity card will assist Germany in attracting skilled labour from foreign countries
Most organizations and companies in Germany prefer eligible candidates who are resident in Germany or the European Union.
It gives you access to professional job-seekers to work in Germany without even getting an offer.
