MTN Ghana, the leading Telecommunication giant in Ghana has announced that effective Saturday, 1st July, 2023 it will increase charges on withdrawal transactions popularly called ‘Cash-Out’.
The current maximum charge on withdrawals is 1% for any amount up to One thousand (1,000.00) Ghana Cedis and Ten Ghana (10) Cedis flat rate for transactions above One thousand (1,000) Ghana Cedis.
The message reads, “Y’ello Valued Customer, kindly note that effective July 1, 2023, Cash out transactions below Ghc2,000 will attract a fee of 1%. Cash-out transactions from Ghc2,000 and above will attract a flat fee of Ghc 20. This will be charged to your wallet. Do not pay any other fee to any MoMo agent. Just Momo it”.
It will now charge 1% on any transaction up to Two thousand (2,000) Ghana Cedis and the maximum flat rate now increased to Twenty (20) Ghana Cedis.
As a result, customers are going to pay more than Ten (10) cedis for any transaction between GH¢1,000 and GH¢2,000.
MTN is yet to issue a statement to explain the reason for the increment.
