The Highest Court in Ghana, the Supreme Court has ruled that the directive by the President, Nana Akuffo Addo to force the former Auditor General, Mr. Daniel Dormelevo to go on leave is unconstitutional.

It will be recalled that the President in a letter dated Monday, 29th June, 2020 directed the former Auditor General to go on his accumulated leave.

In a suit filed by The Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) and eight other Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in October, 2020, the group decided to seek interpretations from the Supreme Court.  The Court ruled that the decision by the President is unconstitutional.
