Workers on the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) Payroll are keenly waiting on when their January, 2024 salaries will be paid as most people have exhausted their December, 2023 salaries.
Per the payment schedules for 2024 as announced by CAGD in December last year, salaries should be paid from Monday, 22nd January, 2024. However, this doesn’t mean automatically banks would start crediting their customers on that day. This is because this largely depends on when the validation window is opened.
Validation for January, 2024 is set to be opened between Wednesday, 17th and Friday, 19th of this month. This means that, workers on the Controller payroll should brace themselves for payment from Wednesday 24th to Friday, 26th.
Would the 23% increment take effect from this month?
It is likely that the 23% would take effect from this month bearing any government policies or challenges.
